The IELTS test is recognised internationally and is a prerequirement to study at many universities in English-speaking countries, especially in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries, and also in the USA. It is also particularly relevant for students wishing to study at institutions which do not have an existing cooperation with their university institution in Bremen.

The test is available in two versions - Academic and General Training. The Academic Version is the one which is recognised by university institutions. The General Training version would not be accepted for study purposes. For the required levels and scores, you should always check with the university you wish to attend for individual admissions requirements.
