Korean is spoken by over 78 million people in North and South Korea. The differences between the various Korean dialects are comparatively small.

The alphabet most commonly used is "Hangeul" which has a total of 51 characters: 14 consonants, 10 vowels and 27 characters composed of sequences of basic characters.

The FZHB will offer Korean for beginners from the winter semester 2016/ 17 onwards.
