Free courses for students of Bremen University

The FZHB offers students of Bremen University a number of language courses in order to promote academic plurilingualsim. These courses are free.

Speak your first language to an academic standard - Turkish, Russian, Polish, Kurdish

If your first language is Turkish, Russian, Polish or Kurdish and you learned your mother tongue as a child at home, but have had no formal teaching in it, then these courses are for you. You probably speak your first language very well on a colloquial level, but have never learned it on an academic level. You may have difficulty expressing complicated ideas and concepts, especially in writing. Our courses are designed to help you use your first language in academic and professional contexts. 

The FZHB now offers free courses for Turkish, Russian, Polish and Kurdish for specific purposes:

  • academic writing
  • oral communication in your own particular specialism
  • project courses: business Turkish, Turkish for law students

German as a second language

Are you bilingual or plurilingual but have some problems formulating complex academic texts in German? Why not take one of our free German courses for specialist academic purposes? We offer:

Academic communication in English

English is THE global language of academic communication in all disciplines. We have therefore put together a programme of academic communication courses for specific purposes. The entry level required for these free courses is B2.2 - the target level is C1.
