Conference Dinner

Conference Dinner in the Bremer Ratskeller

This year's conference dinner will again be held in the Bremer Ratskeller, the historic restaurant and UNESCO World Heritage Site in the cellars of the Bremer Rathaus which hosted our conference dinners in 2011 and 2013.

The evening will commence with a reception and all those attending the conference dinner are cordially invited to join us in a glass of Sekt or orange juice.

The culinary staff at the Ratskeller have put together a hot-and-cold buffet menu which includes fish, meat, and vegetarian dishes, as well as regional specialties.

Before the meal, we will use the occasion to present the Bremen AKS Research Award.

Ratskeller Restaurant
Am Markt
28195 Bremen

The entrance to the Ratskeller can be found next to the statue of the Bremen Town Musicians on the left- hand side of the Rathaus (when approaching the building from Marktplatz).

Buses and Trams

From the university, take tram number 6 in the direction of the airport (Flughafen), and get out at the stop called Domsheide. It's about a 20 minute ride.

Tram lines 2,3,4,5,6 and 8, as well as bus numbers 24 and 25, all stop at Domsheide, which is the closest stop to the city centre (Marktplatz). If you take tram number 1 or the bus numbers 26 and 27, you will need to get out at Am Brill.

By Car

You can park in one of the city centre's multi-storey car parks - Katharinenklosterhof or am Dom. It is just a short walk from either of these car parks to the Ratskeller. Bremen's downtown area is a  Low Emission Zone, so your car will need to have a yellow or green emissions sticker on it. For more information, please visit the website of Bremen's Senator for Environmental Affairs.
