Informationen zum Kursinhalt
This course can be taken as a stand-alone module or as part of our Unicert III programme.

This advanced academic writing skills course is aimed at those students who are interested in writing academic papers and/or their bachelor's/master's thesis in English. It will familiarise students with the main features of academic writing in English, especially academic style, text organisation and paragraphing, and editing and proof-reading. Other areas include diagnostic grammar, use of academic vocabulary, and punctuation. In addition, the course will provide writing practice and feedback in students' chosen fields



Workload

  • 2 SWS face-to-face teaching
  • 4 SWS self-study

Course requirements/Criteria for achieving credit points:

  • active participation (80% attendance only for UNIcert III)
  • fulfilment of all  self study components (information will be given in class)
  • submission of two pieces of academic writing on topics from students' own discipline in at least two drafts.
